Kastellorizo is a small Greek island 70 miles east of Rhodes and just
three miles off the beautiful southern Turkish coast. It has a population
of about 200, supplemented in the summer with a few foreigners with
house there and a limited number of tourists. It’s the perfect place
to “get away from it all”, with good walking, some of the
clearest water in the Mediterranean for swimming, and the Blue Grotto
which rivals that of Capri. There are several good taverns and bars
on the waterfront.
Kastellorizo has an airport and five flights a week as well as ferry
service from Rhodes. A local boat service does trips to Kas in Turkey
for shopping/sightseeing and trips around the island to the grotto.
