Crew Profile:
Captain: Wolf Petrasko
Wolf has been in the boating industry for over 30 years. In 1970, he began racing Maxi sailing vessels. For 10 years he worked in the marine industry operating and building custom motor yachts. In 2002, he became captain and engineer on the 117’ Feadship, Class of 68, Chogori, and Beija-Flor from 2002 to 2006. He carries a 500 Ton Ocean Operator, STCW 95. Wolf was also the captain on Global Adventure and circumnavigated the globe! Wolf has a degree in history and is fluent in French and German.
Chef: Shelley Souder (A.K.A. "Dallas")
Chef "Dallas" Souder moved to San Diego at age 27 to follow her dream in starting a catering company. Now 32, she has worked under several reputable chefs in San Diego as well as Event Coordination, specializing in offsite catered events such as weddings, corporate events, fund raisers, holiday parties, private affairs & other special occasions. After given the opportunity to learn the business side of catering, she decided to invest that knowledge into her future by starting an Event Consulting company in 2005 calling it “Dining with Dallas”. She understands all the hard work that goes into a special occasion and believes that her clients should always “be a guest at your own party”. With her entrepreneurial spirit, love for details, passion for creating good food & great ambiance, she is looking forward to working in this new and exciting industry with chartered yachts. With over 15 years experience in the catering, hospitality & service industry ~ catering to this elite clientele can only bring new & exciting challenges. In the past 2 years, Dallas has traveled to Fiji, Australia and Costa Rica learning new recipes to add to her collection. Her love for cooking began when she was a little girl as her grandmothers and great-grandmothers would let her assist them in the kitchen. When she’s not cooking she enjoys body boarding, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, hiking, painting, collecting cookbooks and of course traveling.
2nd Captain/Engineer: David L. Purcell
David is also a professional yacht captain and engineer with 25 years experience. He has extensive knowledge in domestic and international deliveries, big game sports fishing and chartered events. He was the 2nd Captain on Class of 68 and also captain/engineer of the 75’, Van Go II and Never Say Never, the 82’ Baratucci. He holds a USCG 200T near coastal and a 500 T – ITC Domestic and STCW 95.
First Mate: David Ballesteros
David began his boating career on the Leight Star vessel in 1994. He sailed the west coast and Alaska numerous times. He worked on the 108’ Splash and delivered the vessel from Maine to Florida. David is fluent in Spanish.
Stewardess: Angelica Vargas
Angelica has 10 years experience working directly with the public and four years on board cruise ships and private yachts. She has excellent communication skills and speaks fluent Spanish and Italian. She was the Chief Stewardess on Kylonen for one year and Stewardess on Sojourn for two years. She worked on Princess Cruises in Boutiques as Board Staff for two years. Angelica is certified STCW 95, fine wine training (presentation and knowledge of wine). She also has her Bartender Academy Certificate.
Deckhand: Tuasivi Scanlan
Tuasivi is 22 years old and was born in Germany. He spent the majority of his life on Catalina Island, in California. At age 13, he started cleaning and repairing vessels at the “Tuna Yacht Club” on Avalon and also worked on the 106’ Cheoy Lee, Primetime. In 2004, he moved to Newport Beach, California to work on the 70’ ,White Light as a deckhand and part time skipper. He also worked for Precision Offshore in Huntington Beach as a mechanic. Tuasivi enjoys para sailing.
