Captain: Pascal Pellat-Finet
Master Yacht Captain (MCA Class IV 3000-Ton Master) Merchant Marine French
500 Tons-STCW 95 and Helicopter Pilot. Pascal, 48 is French/USA and speaks fluent French, English and Spanish. His previous position was on command of 120’ Sailing Vessel Extra-beat, winning three first place trophies for the America’s Cup Jubilee.
Pascal’s passion is racing and this experience in such a field is too extensive to be listed here. Pascal is committed to safety and will enjoy to take you to a new thrilling experience on board Tiara which he joined from the development stages of the build, and gained and in depth knowledge of the ship second to none.
Alternate Captain: Eric Saint Plancat
French Merchant Marine Captain (15.000 Tons STCW95 Master) – Fluent
French & English Eric, 35, is much more experienced than his age could let think, after 17 years spent on both sailing yachts and cargo ships. Eric is known in the charter business to have been captain on the 138’ sailing catamaran Douce France for over two years. During the last three years before joining Tiara, he was on command of the 190’ three-masted bark square rigged training ship Belem (nothing less than France’s flag-ship), as well as on the 9.000 tons cargo ship MN Toucan, carrying the Ariane 5 satellite launcher between Europe and Guyana.
Eric’s passion for sailing knows no limit, as he personally owns a wooden classic cutter based in Brittany, and lives with his family on board a 56’ ketch, sailing worldwide during his time-off.
Chief Engineer: Stuart Cox
Originally from England but now living with his family in the South of France, Stuart’s career at sea began as a 16 year old. During the early nineteen eighties, he travelled to the South of France, and during a spell in Antibes discovered the yachting industry. Now, with over 20 years in the industry and having commanded the engineering departments on some of the world’s finest yachts, Stuart is well placed to make sure your trip runs without a hitch.
Alternate Chief Engineer: Chris Finnigan
After completing an apprenticeship and serving 10 years as an Aircraft Engineer,
Chris moved to the yachting industry, where he has been working for close to 20 years. His last position was onboard Le Grande Bleu as IT/Communications engineer, and prior to this as Chief Engineer on the 57m Feadship Huntress.
Chris holds the MCA III/2 Chief Engineer 3,000Tons & MCA Yachtmaster Offshore qualifications.
Born in the U.K., now living in S.W. France with his wife and two daughters, Chris’s extensive experience helps to ensure that Tiara runs smoothly and safely.
Second Engineer: Ben Leaker
Ben is 28 years old, from New-Zealand, and he joined the team in November 2007. Prior to that, he had worked for the super yacht industry for 18 months, after having experienced engineering with the New Zealand Coastguard and marine focused firms, like Hamilton Jet.
He is a hard working individual, and always available to lend a hand no matter what department. After work you may find him on the foredeck with his guitar.
Chief Mate: Brendon Crawford
Brendon, 38, gained much of his nautical experience with the New Zealand Navy where as a navigation specialist he navigated 3500tn frigates, captained patrol craft, and instructed navigation. A keen sailor since the age of 5, Brendon has raced everything from dingies to multihulls, and has owned his own 22’ yacht for over 15 years. For the 2 ½ years leading up to the 2003 America’s Cup, Brendon, as Auckland’s Deputy Harbormaster, co-coordinated the multi agency spectator control fleet and public information programme. Brendon has been with Tiara for over 4 years, before which he was bosun on the classic gaff rigged ketch Thendara. Brendon also holds the MCA Master - 3000 ton license.
Bosun: Youri Loof
Youri is 30 years of age and is from Belgium. He has been sailing in the North Sea and English Channel since the age of 8 on his family’s yacht, and more recently has raced 420 dinghies in Belgian national regattas. He had two years experience in the
Caribbean working in hospitality and as a water sports instructor before joining a maxi 88’ for an Atlantic crossing. This led to a position on Moonlight II, another maxi 88’, where he worked for three years as first mate conducting charters around the Mediterranean. He has sailed on some of the world’s best cruising and racing yachts including Swan’s, 12mJI, and Figaro 2. Youri has been an integral part of Tiara for over 4 years.
Deckhand & Relief Bosun: Geoff Wiles
Geoff comes from New Zealand, and had a passion for the sea from an early age. He has raced extensively in New Zealand on the family 45 foot classic yacht. He currently holds a Yachtmaster Offshore ticket and wishes to continue in gaining further qualifications.
Aside from his yachting passion, Geoff has spent the previous 3 years before working on Tiara completing a Business degree in marketing and management at the university.
Chief Stewardess: Morgane Fratani
Morgane grew up in Brittany, where she started sailing and racing boats at a young age. From racing the world famous J-Class Cambria to managing a villa for high profile guests in Saint Barth, her experience and abilities in both yachting and hospitality are without bounds.
Morgane studied History and Art History at the University in Brittany, and she applies this knowledge through the lens of her camera on professional assignments worldwide.
Her languages include French, English and Spanish as well as a notion of Italian.
Chief Stewardess: Sarah Honeyman
Sarah grew up in Cowes on the Isle of Wight and began working in the hospitality industry from a young age. She studied Modern Languages and European Studies at university as she enjoys communicating and interacting in different languages.
Sarah has always been devoted to delivering excellent customer service and worked for British Airways for several years, where she made the most of her opportunities to travel and to develop her genuine passion for the happiness and well-being of others.
She left the airline industry in 2004 to work in yachting. Before joining Tiara, Sarah spent four busy summer charter seasons in the Mediterranean. With her friendly attitude and bubbly personality, Sarah is a valuable team-member aboard Tiara.
Second Stewardess: Anna Jacobsson.
Since growing up on the west-coast of Sweden, Anna has been surrounded by water and boats from an early age. She started working in the restaurant business at the age of 16 and after finishing her social studies, she left home to see the world.
For eight years, her love for different cultures, languages, animals and nature has taken her to amazing places. Anna brings these experiences with her into the yachting industry. A delivery from Hong Kong to Sweden and more recently, a year aboard Mirabella V, Anna is now happy to join the Tiara crew.
Third Stewardess: Carey Garland
Carey is 24 and comes from New Zealand. For the past 4 years she has been at university studying music and completed her degree at the end of 2007.
Throughout this time she has worked in retail and hospitality jobs to support herself.
She joined the crew for the summer 2008, willing to give the best of herself to serve our guests.
Deckhand / Ship’s Carpenter: Will Hallet
Will is from Bristol, England and with a background in carpentry, was drawn to Tiara by her stunning wooden interior as much as her magnificence in the water.
Working on a sailing yacht has been a dream of his for many years and he is enjoying be able to travel the world whilst broadening his knowledge as a seaman.
Chef: David Beaumont
David our French chef comes to us with a background in the restaurant industry, outdoor catering and as a land-based private chef. He joined the yachting industry some 3 years ago to quench his desire for travelling, and quickly discovered this passion fused well with his love of cooking and creating dishes using local and exotic influences.
He has a diverse range of talents in the galley, from canapés to dessert. And his cooking has only one condition— it has got to be fresh.
Chef: Fabien Beaumont
After a classical French culinary training, Fabien has an insatiable passion for creating original dishes. This young chef has worked in several gastronomique restaurants throughout Europe. And has taken to the ocean with Tiara to combine his wish to travel with his cooking skills. Fabien’s energy and love of food is infectious, and thanks to his playful mind, you can be sure that his dishes will tickle your taste buds! |
