Sailing the Adriatic - every island is a botanical garden

This is another favorite cruise and offers the chance to sail a more or less circular route, including some mainland ports as well as some of the islands.

SPLIT
Dating from 300 AD, the ancient city of Split took over from Salona as the metropolis of the Roman province of Dalmatia. The medieval town developed out of the Emperor Diocletian's palace, which is recorded as a UNESCO - "monument of universal importance." Other sites to visit include the Peristyle, Jupiter's Temple and Visesllas's Baptistery. The city and marina are close to Split airport and the port is an ideal point to join your Interpac Yacht Charter which is within easy reach of the off lying islands, providing the first part of your cruise.

SOLTA
A small island lying close to Split provides a pleasant swimming stop during our first day of cruising.

TROGIR
Stands on the foundations of an ancient Greek settlement on a small island connected to the mainland bridges. This medieval town is a favorite stop and the fascinating old town offers restaurants, markets and beautiful sights, including the 15th century Trogir chapel and the 13th century portal by the master Radovan. The yacht marina is situated on another small island opposite the old city walls which is an easy walk over a bridge to the old town.

U. SICENICA
A deep fjord like bay which provides excellent surroundings for a lunch-time stop and swim in the clear blue waters.

PRIMOSTEN
A small picturesque fishing village, originally built on an island which is now joined to the mainland by a causeway. There are two small harbors here and if we are fortunate enough we can sneak inside the wall of the outer harbor.

SKRADIN
The voyage to Skradin is possibly one of the most spectacular on the whole coast. After entering the Sibenik channel we pass through the meandering fjord with high cliffs twisting and turing for 12 miles until we reach the ancient Roman village of Skradin. We stay here overnight and in the morning you can visit the famous waterfalls in the Krka National Park. We like to stock up on fresh local produce and wines here.

PROVAC & ZLARIN ISLANDS
Lying just opposite Sibenik these small islands offer village ports and anchorages for your Interpac charter yacht to spend a night after your visit to the Krka Falls of Skardin or, if we have time, we can sail onto the landlocked anchorage of Rogoznica. An ideal bay for some water sports or an evening barbeque on baord while we are anchored off this picturesque fishing harbor.

BRAC
An early start sees us on the way for a sail to the island of Brac, anchoring in the clear waters of Stipanska for lunch and a well earned swim.

HVAR ISLAND
In the afternoon we move on the this island, arriving in the main port town of Hvar. This attractive town harbor is always a popular destination. We can either anchor in the middle of the bay or sail to the island of Palmizanen where there is a very picturesque marina set in a natural bay. These spectacular islands offer many bays and pretty anchorages, which are well worth seeing. We would usually spend at least a couple of days cruising around Hvar before moving on.

FROM HVAR THERE ARE TWO ROUTES TO BRING US BACK TO SPLIT

MAKARSKA
Sailing up the mainland coast along the north side of Brac brings us to Makarska. Situated under a spectacular mountain range the port of Makarska is a natural harbor with good facilities for over our night stop.

OR...

MILNA
On the west coast of Brac is the tiny port of Milna, which is a pleasant days sail from Hvar island and well situated for our final approach to Split. Set in a deep indented fjord Milna is an old fishing village.
