A
suggested itinerary from Bodrum, around the Gulf of Gokova and back
to Bodrum.
- Sail the twenty miles
to ancient Knidos and anchor in the Southern harbor, surrounded by
the ruins of the old city.
- Visit the ruins in
the early morning and then head north and then east into the Gulf
of Gokova and find a quiet anchorage near Cati Creek.
- Explore Amazon Creek
and the coastline up to Yedi Adalari (7 islands)
- Continue north along
the well indented coast to Degirmen Buku, a deep bay with many attractive
anchorages.
- Sail to the densely
wooded Bay of Sogut in the morning and on to Sehir Adalari (Snake
Island) and ancient Cederae, to visit the ruins and enjoy the white
sands of Cleopatra's Beach.
- Sail northwards to
Akbuk Liman and anchor in one of the small turquoise blue inlets.
For the evening, anchor off the small settlement.
- Make an early departure
and head westwards, stopping at one of many anchorages on the north
side of the Gulf. Spend the evening enjoying the nightlife of Bodrum,
or if you prefer a quiet bay, anchor in Cokertme or Orak Adasi nearby.
