Tuscany

The Tuscan Archipelago is a group of far flung islands - Elba, Giglio, Giannuti, Pianosa, Montecristo and Capraia .. each is less than ten miles from its neighbor. Among these islands, monks of middle Ages left small quiet monasteries, Pisans left Romanesque churches and castles, and even the Spaniards left their mark.

ELBA is well known as Napoleon's "Little Empire". Apart from its historical significance, ELBA is a very beautiful and simple island. The harbor of Portoferraio is guarded by a 16th century citadel overlooking a maze of narrow streets and alleyways with charming markets and shops. Also worth a visit are the sandy beaches of Marino di Campo and small port of Porto Azzurro.

unspoiled beaches

GIGLIO is a tiny picturesque island where you can visit remains of the villas of the great Roman family, Domitii Enrobardi.
