Afternoon departure from Juneau... Cruise down Gastineau Channel past the remains of the world's largest gold mine. Upon arriving at Taku Harbor, set crab pots before anchoring for the night. Head for Tracy Arm Fjord and enjoy lunch drifting off the massive ice blue face of South Sawyer Glacier. Cruise to Seymour Canal and anchor in a secluded cove where brown bears are known to appear for their evening meal! Photograph magnificent humpback whales at Five Fingers Islands, then to warm Springs Bay at Baranof Island... An excellent area to fish for salmon. Anchor by a 100-foot waterfall. Enjoy spectacular scenery and bald eagles through Neva and Olga narrow. Arrive at Sitka in the afternoon in time to explore Alaska's most beautiful seaside town. After exploring and fishing in the Sitka area, depart for Henderson Bay, known for its abundant wildlife. Cruise to Tenakee Springs, a picturesque village abundant with Alaskan wild flowers and a Hot Springs Bathhouse. The only cars in town are an oil truck and the town fire truck! Return to Auke Bay with its awesome view of Mendenhal Glacier. Enjoy Juneau's Gold Creek and historic sights... End your day in Juneau's famous frontier Red Dog Saloon.
